About us

Pregnancy is an incredible thing. Motherhood is marvellous. This is what I believe and what I’ve experienced. What I also know, from going through it, is that the reality of these two states of being is often daunting, challenging, unglamorous, crazy and sometimes just pretty hard work. And then again, amidst the day-to-day of the reality of aching legs, nappies and sleep deprivation there are often wonderful, thrilling moments when you feel totally amazing.

My name is Sophie. I’m the doting mother of two small girls.

I’ve never felt so tired, confused or overwhelmed as throughout the journey of becoming a mother. I’ve also never felt so gloriously alive, laughed so much or suffused with happy bliss. While every day I relish the amazing opportunities motherhood brings I am also very aware that it is a long journey and one where sharing the experiences of fellow mothers can really help.

I am also the owner of Babes with Babes London. We’re an e-boutique for maternitywear, breastfeeding clothes and new baby gifts. Thanks to this work, my lovely team and I come into constant contact with pregnant women and new mums. We’ve also all gone through the exhilarating process ourselves and have plenty to say about it all. Along the way we’ve picked up lots of tips on how to make the most of motherhood & easy ways to make it feel good.

At Bb London, we love helping mothers feel confident about the woman behind the mother (she who is behind the bump, the real person behind the buggy). We are fascinated by finding ways to help control the chaos of motherhood… or just how to revel in it and laugh at it all. We are dedicated to thinking about how to make the best of every day, every outfit and every experience.

This blog is about our experiences of seeking out those positive moments of motherhood. It’s about my quest, along with the team, to help unearth the secrets of sanity and style, fun and satisfaction from the busy haze of pregnancy and being a mother.
